The fundamental frequency of the gong seems to be at about 63,8 Hz, so it can go fairly low.

Here's a track I originally made in 2003, it's a cover of Jean Michel Jarre’s Equinoxe part 7 which I called «Equinoxe On The Rocks». It will be a Mellotron-style sampling instrument which is using the Tsunami Super Wav Trigger. Making a Mellotron is a great excuse for getting into the world of Arduino, which is a superb platform for DIY. I’d like to give a big thanks to my good friend and electronics mentor par excellence; Terje Daleng - there’s been quite a steep learning curve for me the last couple of years.

This Solina didn't have an on/off switch for the ensemble chorus, so my plan was to add that. Instead I added the dry output as a part of the modulation mixer, so modulator 0 is the dry output and modulator 1-3 are the delay lines.

It was printed with 0.1mm height per layer, so it took about 40 hours to complete. Next up is painting, labeling and finally installing it in the Solina. Music: "Filament Boogie", by Per Kristian Risvik.

Eminent 310 Unique and Roland VP-03 string-ensemble comparison

Just a quick test to see if the VP-03 is up for some classic phased pads with an Electro Harmonix Small Stone phaser. I didn't push the mini-jack plug all the way into the socket on the VP-03, the chorus gets a bit more wobbly when the stereo channels are combined to mono.

Kirsty is played by the Dectalk Express (Rough Rita modified for higher stress level) Pinhead/Female Cenobite is played by the Dolphin Apollo 2 (Heavily altered versions of voice 2/3) The Asian Merchant is played by the Intex Talker (Votrax SC-01A)

Guild Wars Factions - Luxon Theme cover

I've never played Guild Wars, but as I listened thru the soundtrack I was instantly intrigued by this track. Composed by Jeremy & Julian Soule for Guild Wars Factions. It is played with a patch(the SoulePad) I made on a Roland Fantom XR sound module, which is great for making complex and evolving, multi-layered pads.

Thanks! I've gathered quite a few Mellotron samples over the years, some are from Leisureland.us, but I've also included a lot of other kind of samples like the Optigan/Orchestron master tapes and sample sets I've recorded myself.
